Domestic service must be a decent occupation, but in Peru it still means discrimination, exploitation and abuse. Girls, teenagers, young women and older ones face exhausting workdays, do not get payed, are not allowed to go to school, do not have days off, do not have health insurance or other social benefits.

Many domestic workers are disparaged because of their cultural background, alienated from their families, abused, sexually harassed, deprived of their personal documents and threatened if wanting to leave the employers’ house.
